Lorraine Moller speaks about the 1st principle of Lydiard Training: Maximizing Aerobic Capacity

Lydiard Training is made up of 5 basic principles. The first principle is Maximizing Aerobic Capacity. Aerobic Capacity is the amount of oxygen the body can utilize before going anaerobic. The capacity for aerobic work is increased during the first segment of Lydiard Training, the base of the pyramid. This also becomes your recovery system and without it, you cannot reach your full potential.
