She holds the distinction of being the only woman to have run all of the 20th century Olympic marathons for women.

We have been conducting the Lydiard Coaching Certificate Clinic (I & II) in its present two-and-a-quarter days format since the spring of 2013.  The course starts out on Friday evening showing the awesome historical  development of Lydiard training from its modest neighborhood development to becoming the most widely used performance training system in the world for endurance sports.

On the following days we cover the theory and application of Lydiard Training so that every participant can write a Lydiard schedule and know that every workout has its purpose and place to optimize the training and racing of any athlete.

There are practical sessions on Saturday and Sunday of the quintessential Lydiard hill training and the sharpening session of 50/50’s. With lively discussion and case studies we nearly always run out of time so, we have introduced a new schedule with added hours to make Lydiard I&II a 20-hour course.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 30 days before the event. After the refund period has expired, registration fees may be applied to a future event or Running Wizard Online Training subscription.

  • 9:00 am     Aerobic Development, Simple Physiology, Marathon Conditioning, Hill Training
  • 12:00 pm   Lunch Break with Movie
  • 1:00 pm   Anaerobic Training (Intervals), Integration Training (Coordination), Taper–the Art of Peaking, Q&A
  • 4:00 pm   Workout Practice–Lydiard™ Hill Training

June 9, 2019 (Sunday):

  • 9:00 am    Recovery Indicators
  • 10:00 am  Planning Yearly Training Cycle, Racing Considerations, Post-Race Recovery
  • 11:00 am   Workout Practice–50/50, Drills
  • 12:00 pm   Lunch Break with Movie
  • 1:00 pm   Review, Group Session–Case Studies, Multiple Questions (part of the exam)
  • 3:30-4:00 pm    Closing Comments
