In Arthur Lydiard, Coaches, In The News, In The News - JPN

Coach Mark Wetmore just sent me a quick note about this sad news — he said he knew her from his NJ days:

She was a women’s version of Ed Whitlock.  She was one of the greatest master’s runners of all the time — and her record speaks for itself.  She might be very little-known in her birth country of Japan but people like her, and Miki Gorman, really planted the seed for great Japanese female marathon runners like Naoko Takahashi, Mizuki Noguchi and Reiko Tosa who followed.

Toshiko D’Elia: Rest in peace.
